Utility Engineering & Surveying Institute

NEW IN 2026! We are BACK! If you have not found your source for Utility, Pipeline Engineering, and Surveying/Geomatics, you have now. We are contacting those interested now and expect to have a Social Event going before the new year. 2026 brings even more to the table with monthly meetings and special guests to discuss important topics and insights on our favorite projects from around the State. The next event we are planning for is a luncheon on pipeline design in collaboration with the Phoenix Branch in the 2nd quarter of 2026. (Details will follow)

ASCE/UESI Individual Membership
Available to current ASCE members who select UESI as their primary or secondary Institute, as well as new ASCE members that select UESI as their primary Institute.
As an ASCE member, you can join one Institute at no additional cost or add a second institute for just $30 per year.
Remember to select UESI as your primary Institute!

UESI Membership
Available to individuals that would not necessarily apply for ASCE membership (example: technicians, vendors (salespeople), and other non-engineers involved in utility and surveying practice). You don’t have to be a member of ASCE to join UESI. UESI only membership is available for only $135 per year.

WHAT IS UESI?

UESI was created on October 1, 2015 with the goal to provide leadership and serve as a forum for:

  • Advancing engineering and technical practices for managing “cradle-to-grave” lifecycles of utility systems.
  •  Facilitating effective coordination among utility infrastructure operators and owners and managers of other civil infrastructure.
  • Promoting utility engineering as a recognized civil engineering practice.
  • Promoting effective surveying and data management practices in civil engineering.
  •  Enhancing the role of utility engineers and engineering surveyors in the development and delivery  of civil engineering projects.
  •  Reducing the risk that existing utilities create on infrastructure projects.

Utility Engineering is a branch of Civil Engineering that focuses on the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and asset management of any and all utility systems, as well as the interaction between utility infrastructure and other civil infrastructure.
