History of the First 25 Years of the Arizona Section
This document chronicles the beginning of the Arizona Section and its first twenty-five years, from 1925 to 1949. It was written in 1962 by John C. Park, Dean Emeritus and Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Arizona.
150th Anniversary Booklet
The Arizona Society of Civil Engineers celebrated the 150-year history of the American Society of Civil Engineers in 2002 with this publication highlighting the distinguished civil engineers and projects that have established Arizona’s prominent role in engineering history.
Historic Navajo Bridge – Designation as ASCE Historic Civil Engineering Monument
The formal ceremony adding the Historic Navajo Bridge to ASCE’s list of Historic Civil Engineering Monuments was held on Friday, May 15th, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. A plaque commemorating the landmark was placed at the north end of the bridge at the new Interpretive Center.
Grand Canyon Railway and Ashfork-Bainbridge Steel Dam Dedication as Historic Civil Engineering Monuments
The dedication of the Grand Canyon Railway and the Ashfork-Bainbridge Steel Dam as historic engineering monuments was at a ceremony on Friday, May 5, 2000, at 1:30 p.m. MST. This took place at the Williams Depot in downtown Williams.
Kaibab Trail Suspension Bridge – Designation as ASCE Historic Civil Engineering Monument
The dedication of the Historic Kaibab Trail Suspension Bridge as an historic engineering monument was at a ceremony on Saturday, Feburary 23, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. MST. This took place on the rim of the Grand Canyon adjacent to the Yavapai Geology Museum, where a plaque commemorating the landmark can be found. A second landmark plaque can be found near the bridge at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, approximately 350 feet west of the north end of the bridge.
