AzSCE Southern Arizona Branch
Community Food Bank
December 4, 2010
Southern Arizona Branch did a great job on Saturday, December 4, at the Community Food Bank!
A fantastic group of volunteers included: Connie Jiang, Mark and Eva Kasztalski, Chuck Martin, Mick Mathieu, Bruce Paton, Regina Quinlan, Derek Roberts, Heidi Schneider and John Spiker.
SAB worked with other groups of volunteers to fill 3,379 emergency food boxes containing 82,584 pounds of food. That's about 20 boxes per minute!!
The Volunteer Coordinator had high praise for the group. She said she had hoped to have 50 volunteers for the day, while about 30 were there to work. She had re-set her expectations to about 1800 boxes, then was thrilled and amazed that every available box was filled and ready for distribution. She was extremely thankful for the efforts at the onset of the holiday season.
Way to go volunteers!
